Steve is an exploration petroleum geoscientist with over 30 years’ experience in a number of international companies. He now specialises in all aspects of exploration new ventures. He has a strong technical background in geology and geophysics but is also experienced in assessing non-technical risk, such as economic, commercial and political considerations.

Within the past 10 years he has been European New Ventures Manager for Shell, New Ventures Advisor to the CEO of an AIM listed independent and New Ventures Manager for a Japanese IOC. In all of these roles he helped develop new venture strategy and negotiate new acreage positions. He has significant experience with working in joint venture partnerships and liaising with national oil companies, governments and other national licensing bodies.

Steve offers a breadth of experience in exploration project management including work flow, technical QC, portfolio, and technical and non-technical risk assessment.

Steve has a BSc. in Geology from the University of London, is a Fellow of the Geological Society of London and is a member of the EAEG and the PESGB.
