Data & Knowledge Base Consultation

Simco has established a framework to make its historic African hydrocarbon exploration knowledge accessible to clients. Using seismic data originally acquired on a proprietary basis, this legacy information and data is now available to a new generation of explorationists, providing valuable insights into the geology of more than a dozen licence areas across multiple countries.

Several of the datasets cover regions where blocks remain open for licensing or where farm-in opportunities are available.

The knowledge is based on 35,205 km2 of 3D seismic, with angle stacks and attribute volumes, and 7 large 2D grids covering mostly offshore Western Africa. Clients can consult reports of seismic interpretation, with well ties and geological analysis. Proven discoveries and producing fields are present.

Access is to the knowledge base is subject to the signing of a Confidentiality Agreement and the payment of a fee for a negotiated review period of three months or longer. The interpretations are available in both IHS Kingdom and Petrel formats. If required Simco can provide a consultant to guide clients through the knowledge base.
