Russ Guyatt
Reservoir Engineer
Russ Guyatt joined Simco as an associate in Sept 2010 and is an experienced professional engineer with over 30 years experience. Trained as a Reservoir Engineer with British Gas Corporation and worked on the early development of the Wytch Farm oilfield and their Southern North Sea Gas assets prior to the divestment of their oil assets following the Enterprise Act.
Joined Ranger Oil in 1984 and was part of the team that built Ranger Oil up to a significant North Sea and International oil company until its sale to CNR in 2000. During this time fulfilled a number of reservoir and petroleum engineering roles including well testing, HPHT wells, reservoir modelling, field development planning, offshore operations and project/asset management, which included project management of one of the first FPSO developments offshore Angola.
Following Ranger’s sale joined PanOcean Energy as Vice-President engineering responsible for the development of the Company’s Gabon assets. Integral member of the management team that increased production 10 fold and reserves by 1000% which led to the sale of the Company to Addax in 2006 for CDN $1.6 billion.
From 2006 joined Equator Exploration as VP Engineering responsible for the development of the company’s Nigerian assets including an offshore FPSO development. Since 2008 has been established as an independent consultant working on abroad range of roles including project management, reserve auditing and new business development both in the UKCS and Internationally.
